The Lion has long been called the King of the Jungle. Lions live approximately 10 to 14 years in the wild, with the males averaging 10 years most likely due to injuries sustained from rival males. The Lion’s mane is their most distinct feature and while it is very impressive, hinders their ability to hunt efficiently leaving that left up to the female lioness. It is thought the darker, and fuller the mane, the healthier the male. The mane can vary in color from blonde to black, or a male can be maneless as they are in Kenya. Lions are the only large cats where the sexes look different, other than size. There are eight subspecies of lions now recognized in the world. Lions have been known to breed with tigers which create a liger or tiglon hybrid. The largest big cat in the world is such a hybrid.
Our Pen Sets are perfect for anyone’s desk. Each pen set comes with a medium brown-stained base (color may vary), measuring 4 3/4” X 6 1/2”, 3/8" thick, a gold tone pen holder, a gold tone (blue) ink pen, and a 4"-5" figurine.
Pen sets are shipped without the figurine glued in place. This eliminates breakage and allows the figurine to be positioned at the angle you prefer. If you wish to glue, any 2 part epoxy or silicon glue (Goop) works fine.
